There is no clearly defined geographic area included in the East Bay Team Pickleball League. The initial area includes from south to north, the cities of Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, and Richmond. This area is part of the East Bay, which is part of the San Francisco Bay Area. Eventually the scope of the league could expand to include the entire San Francisco Bay Area, but in the near term I want to focus on the area including the five named cities since many players in this area already play at locations across these cities.
More specifically, the area included is defined by the locations of pickleball courts where many players in this area currently play. Those include Bushrod Park in north Oakland, Ocean View Park in Albany, Castro Park in El Cerrito, and Booker T. Anderson Park in Richmond.
As a practical matter, what defines the area is the distances players would be willing to travel between on a weekly basis to participate in "home" and "away" games.
