Finding doubles partners with whom you play your best is an important key to success

Posted by Michael Strait ✏️ Edit this post
100% of East Bay Team Pickleball League matches are Doubles (Not Singles). The vast majority (approximately 90%) of matches reported to DUPR are Doubles matches, and DUPR treats singles and doubles as completely separate categories for rating calculations. so finding doubles partners with whom you play your best is an important key to success in both competitive and recreational matches.

In Open Play, playing with many different partners is a large part of the social aspect of the game, and the fun, to a point. But in competitive play, including the East Bay Team Pickleball League, you learn how important it is to play with partners whose style of play is compatible with yours and with whom you can communicate easily.

However it happens, once you find a partner with whom you play your best, play (and drill) together as much as you can, including in Fixed Partner DUPR Round Robins, where you can be working on that reliable DUPR rating at the same time that you are practicing with your partner in a mildly competitive environment.

If you haven't found a partner yet with whom you think you play your best, use this Board to let others searching for partners of your interest and enter a DUPR Round Robin together or just make a date to show up at your favorite Open Play venue at the same time to see how it goes.
